Overview
I am currently out-of-network and not accepting insurance. Many clients still use benefits by requesting a detailed receipt (a superbill) to seek out-of-network reimbursement directly from their insurer. If you would like a superbill, I’m happy to provide one upon request.
Important: Submitting claims to insurance typically requires a mental-health diagnosis and may share limited information with your insurer. If you prefer to avoid this, self-pay may be a better fit.
Private Pay Rates
Service | Standard Fee | Notes |
---|---|---|
Intake / First Session (55–60 min) | $140 | History, goals, and initial plan |
Individual Session (45–50 min) | $140 | Standard psychotherapy hour |
Extended Session (75–80 min) | $210 | Optional, when clinically appropriate |
Payment is due at the time of service. HSA/FSA cards are typically accepted for eligible services.
Sliding Scale
To expand access, I offer a limited number of sliding-scale spots between $65 and $140 per session. Sliding-scale placement is based on household size and annual income with reference to the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG). A simple income attestation (and, if needed, brief documentation) may be requested.
Income Guide (by % FPG) | Typical Fee | Examples |
---|---|---|
< 200% FPG | $65 | Lower-income households or significant hardship |
200–250% FPG | $85 | Moderate income, limited disposable funds |
250–300% FPG | $105 | Moderate income with some flexibility |
300–400% FPG | $125 | Stable income, balancing competing expenses |
> 400% FPG | $140 | Standard rate |
This table is a guideline, not a guarantee. Availability depends on open reduced-fee spots. We’ll discuss your situation together to determine a fair, sustainable rate.
Out-of-Network & Superbill
- I can provide a superbill with necessary codes for you to submit to your insurer.
- Reimbursement amounts and timelines are set by your plan; please contact your insurer for details.
- If a diagnosis is required for reimbursement, we’ll discuss what is clinically appropriate.
Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)
If you are self-pay or not using insurance, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. You’ll receive an estimate upon request and/or during scheduling. Actual costs may vary based on your needs and session frequency.
Cancellation & Late Arrivals
- 24-hour notice is requested for cancellations or reschedules.
- Late-cancel / no-show fee: up to 50% of the session fee (waived for emergencies at my discretion).
- Arriving late may reduce session time while the full fee applies.
Administrative Services
- Brief coordination (e.g., short emails, quick phone calls) is included as part of care.
- Extended admin time (e.g., lengthy reports, forms, letters) may be billed in 15-minute increments at your session rate unless otherwise specified.
- Records requests and formal documentation may incur standard fees permitted by law.
Legal & Court Policy
Important: While I can provide forensic evaluations or expert testimony, you are responsible for all associated costs if I am compelled to do so. All associated costs include, travel time, legal preparation, appearance time, and attorneys’ fees. Court-ordered work is billed at a 40% increased hourly rate, and may require a minimum $500 retainer.
Payment Methods
- Major credit/debit cards
- HSA/FSA cards (eligible services)
- Electronic invoices/receipts available upon request
Balances must be kept current to continue services. Delinquent accounts may be paused and, if necessary, referred to collections pursuant to state and federal law.
